WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO DETOXIFY?

Many of our cells utilize nutrition via receptors within the cell. These receptor sites are designed to receive very specific nutrients that different types of cells require to function. Some toxic elements can fit perfectly into these same receptor sites that absorb nutrients. As an example, mercury fits perfectly into zinc receptor sites, arsenic into selenium, lead into calcium, pesticides/herbicides into estrogen and thyroid receptors blocking good minerals from being absorbed by the body, creating deficiencies and diseases.

At all times, your body is in a balance between “damage” and “repair of damage”. The first step in the healing process is to reduce the onslaught of chemicals from entering our body, just as we stop the bleeding to stabilize a wound, we must minimize toxic exposure and increase healthy deposits to stabilize our health account...and it starts with the foods you eat.

The nutritional value of one organic apple equals nine conventionally grown apples (non-organic). The cost can now be easier to justify.

From a holistic point of view, the greatest challenge our physiology faces is the EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF TOXINS whether physical, mental or emotional. Your individual toxic load and your ability to cope with it determine your health.

TOXIC LOAD CONTRIBUTORS

  • Chronic emotional and mental stress – high cortisol increases adrenalin and both increases inflammatory markers in the body. Acute stress has a start and an end (Bunji jumping) but chronic stress (overthinking, anxiety, divorce, financial stress, marital stress, etc.) increases cortisol just enough to increase inflammatory markers and cause an acidic environment in the body favorable to disease development.

  • Lack of movement-exercise/activity (sluggish lymphatic system where drainage of toxins happens).

  • Diet low/depleted in natural and nutrient dense foods;

  • Processed foods, boxes, ready-to-eat, packaged – made in a lab.

  • Preservatives/artificial flavors and colors, chemicals

  • Farmed fish, fish containing heavy metals (large fish such as tuna, swordfish, and shark), non-organic meats, non-organic vegetable protein (beans, lentils, nuts, seeds)

  • High food volume consumption (eating too much reduces digestive processes leading to inflammatory markers, poor absorption and nutrient deficiencies). Research shows that eating smaller amounts of food improve autophagy (clearing of debris between cells). Your 60 trillion cells metabolize nutrients and excrete debris outside the cell (in the lymphatic system). This must be removed – drainage protocols, exercise, saunas, massages, skin brushing all contribute to moving the debris out. Overeating reduces this process from happening.

  • Diets HIGH in refined carbs and sugar such as bread, pasta, rice, cereals, muffins, dairy products, juices, alcohol, desserts, candy, sodas, etc. – increases insulin and this stimulates IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor-1) responsible for cell multiplication instead of apoptosis (cell death when DNA is mutated).

  • Air your breath – open your windows, remove mold as it produces a huge amount of mycotoxins that disrupts the endocrine system and the nervous system.

  • Personal Care Products - Buy natural soaps, shampoos, body cream, etc. (Modere offers great products, or products using essential oils).

  • Household Cleaners

  • Medications

  • Electro Magnetic Field (EMFs)– turn off your cell phone at night, no WiFi router in your bedroom, unplug appliances not being used, avoid the microwave as it changes the molecular structure of the foods you cook/heat into non-absorbable molecules.
